The GiveBack Business Program is a pilot initiative of the Impact Institute. Our intent is to develop a model for businesses to assess their current approach to charitable corporate and employee giving to help them develop more focused and targeted strategies to make a greater impact. The Institute plans to partner with local businesses to rollout the program later this year.
The GiveBack Business Program will leverage donations of time, talent, and treasure to target and significantly benefit specific local nonprofits and areas of community need. The company along with its employees can designate preferred nonprofits that tie in with company mission and/or expertise and focus their charitable giving to achieve greater societal results. The societal impact of GiveBack by the company and its employees will be much more defined and measurable. We feel this approach will increase interest and participation in both contributions of dollars and, as equally important, in time spent in volunteer activities. It will generate more inspiration and fulfillment to everyone involved Through the GiveBack Website, a business can establish a corporate goal for volunteer hours and donations. Employee GiveBack can be tracked through individual employee charitable accounts, and totals can be calculated by individual or by the company as a whole. In addition, volunteer opportunities can be selected by matching the skills of an individual employee with those needed by local nonprofit organizations. Businesses may also leverage their current donations to nonprofits through the option of matching employee contributions of time and treasure. The Business Program gives businesses greater visibility in their communities, as well as the opportunity to be recognized and rewarded for being outstanding corporate citizens. For employees, it instills pride in the company, enhances communication among co-workers, and contributes to teamwork and skill building. Involvement in the GiveBack Business Program benefits the company, their relations with customers, their employees, nonprofit organizations, and our communities. Through the GiveBack Business Program we can all GiveBack more effectively to measurably improve our communities, our region, and our world.
